17/07/2000. Diario de Avisos, Tenerife. Study reveals the the valley’s wines are “Good for Health”. Two universities and the ICIA confirm the beneficial effects of Bodega Comarcal’s wines.
“A study led by Professors Valerio Luís Gutiérrez Afonso and Jacinto Darias Martín belonging to the Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology Departments of the La Laguna University, along with the Department of Pharmacy in Barcelona, the Canary Islands Institute for Agricultural Research (Instituto Canario de Investigaciones Agrarias — ICIA) and Bodega Comarcal Valle de Güímar reached the conclusion that wines made with listán blanca grapes and vinified by the peculiar 12-hour maceration system contain high phenol compound values, which are considered good for people’s health.

“Bodega Comarcal, managed by the Agricultural Transformation Company of the Güímar Region’s vine-growers, received a total of 448,000 kilos. “(...) Bodega Comarcal’s ‘Brumas’ will be launched onto the market this year with a production of around 2,500 bottles of sparkling wine.” “At the Food Fair (Feria de Alimentación) awards held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Bodega Comarcal’s “Brumas” brand won two awards for the 2000 vintage.

16/06/2001. La Gaceta de Canarias, Tenerife. Brumas Sparkling Wine awarded the “Zarcillo de Plata” award, a solution for listán blanco wines.
Brumas de Ayosa sparkling wine is made with listán blanco grapes harvested green and has an alcohol content of around 10 degrees. The wine’s winemaking process is overseen by the winery’s oenologist, Domingo Delgado, with the advice provided by Carlos Soto, a specialist in sparkling wines. It is made with the traditional champanoise method.

16/06/2001. El Día, Tenerife. An International Award to the Sparkling Wine will save the listán blanco grapes.

2002 Gastronomy Award for work with wines.
This prize was awarded by the Diario de Avisos in recognition for the work carried out by this winery over the last few years to recover the market share and quality of this winemaking region located in the south of Tenerife.

The same production volume as last year is expected.

Bodega Comarcal Valle de Güímar has alerted vine growers of a rise in alcohol content of two degrees over the last week as the grapes mature. The harvest of all the area’s grapes is therefore expected to reach 100,000 kg by the weekend.
